Finally someone (with the authority to possibly pull it off) has said it. Legalize pot and tax its ass. Unfortunately, I doubt it will happen. The prison guard union in California is massive and spends a shitload of money against ideas like this. They have a lot to lose if the jail population were to be diminished. San Francisco started doing this with the Pot Clubs a while ago. I'm all for it. It gives it legitimacy if government is taxing it as a legal goods.
