A Dance with Dragons

So, a discussion occured last night where some cumguzzlers had no idea what to expect from the next George R.R. Martin Book, A Dance with Dragons I provide you with information here: Book 5 of A Song of Ice and Fire is called A Dance with Dragons. It is currently being written by George R.R. Martin. No release date has been confirmed as yet, but George has said that he plans to deliver it to the publishers by the end of this year, which would possibly mean a late spring/early summer release next year. This is only speculation, and it is possible that George may deliver the book earlier (meaning an earlier publication) or later (meaning a later publication). The book will contain the following POV characters: Daenerys Targaryen Jon Snow Tyrion Lannister Davos Seaworth Bran Stark Arya Stark Asha Greyjoy Theon Greyjoy An unnamed new POV character. An unnamed new POV prologue character. Theon Greyjoy has not been named directly by George, but he has said than an ‘old POV character’ will be returning. Given that Ned and Arys Oakheart are dead and he has said that Catelyn will not have a POV again, this leaves Theon as the only viable candidate. The new POV has not been revealed at all. Popular speculation rests on Quentyn Martell, Jorah Mormont or perhaps others. This is only speculation from the board, not commented on by George. A Dance with Dragons takes place simultaneously alongside the events of A Feast for Crows, with ADWD focusing on the North, the Free Cities and Slaver’s Bay. The timespan of ADWD will likely be several months longer than that for AFFC. The book may be slightly longer than AFFC. Because of the longer timepan, George hopes to be able to revisit the characters left hanging (in some cases, literally) at the end of AFFC to keep their storylines in synch with the longer timespan of ADWD. Asha Greyjoy and Arya Stark appear in both AFFC and ADWD. They will both appear later in the novel, after the events of their chapters in AFFC. George has recently confirmed that more POV characters will die in the remaining books, but not necessarily in ADWD. Some people have theorised that the title may change, as Daenerys’ invasion of Westeros is not likely to occur in this book. However, George recently said that the ‘Dance of Dragons’ and Dany’s invasion do not have to be the same event. Book Six will be called The Winds of Winter. No information is known on it other than that George plans to have all the characters back together in one novel. Book Seven will be called A Dream of Spring. And here's where I get said info. A bunch of Rabid fans who've started a MUSH of all things, based on this series. I have to admit, I'm really considering playing.
