The World's Most Important 6-sec Drum Loop

This fascinating, brilliant 20-minute video narrates the history of the "Amen Break," a six-second drum sample from the b-side of a chart-topping single from 1969. This sample was used extensively in early hiphop and sample-based music, and became the basis for drum-and-bass and jungle music -- a six-second clip that spawned several entire subcultures.

What’s funny is that this

What's funny is that this break has also been incorporated into kids cartoons. And I don't mean like the Saturday morning anime extreme shows, I mean something as innocent as a Nickelodeon cartoon. There was a cartoon short on Nick Toons where this silly dog is somehow on this alien planet. He likes to chase the alien mailman and explains it to every other alien that it's fun. So everyone begins to chase this poor alien mailman everywhere. During the chase scenes they play the Amen break. DJ Rap has a CD out called 'Propa Classics Vol 1' that has the best of her older music. It's pretty much all Amen breaks but it's better than her newer stuff (Bulletproof was disappointing). If you want to hear good old style Jungle/DnB, I recommend it. -- It was a nice day...................AND THEN EVIL CAME! - The Collected Work of Stephen King

Wow. That rules. I decided

Wow. That rules. I decided before listening to it to think of 3 different breaks and see if any of them ended up being it. Sure enough, it was the first one I came up with. Crazy. ∞≈∞≈∞ I beat the internet... ...the end guy is hard. From bash.org

Hey, great find. Thanks.
Better than the potty humor I end up posting.

do not stink and have a sense of humour.
